Spanish producer John Talabot (pictured) gives a completely new voice to Jamie xx’s hit Loud Places with an eclectic house departure from the tune’s melodic center.
Stripping back the lush quality of Jamie xx’s original, the remix focuses on a few of vocalist Romy’s phrasings set against brash synth stabs. An ebbing rhythm circulates throughout before Talabot strategically introduces an acid house-tinged interlude, which coincides with the producer’s more experimental tendencies.
No word yet as to the tune’s official release, but the Young Turks’ YouTube page informs fans that the 12″ is coming soon via their own label. Hear more from John Talabot here.
